HWB Healing Project Mobile Clinic: Divine Connections

Yearn the impossible. ~ Carolyn Jones

The HWB Healing Project Mobile Clinic is on the move!

Thanks to the wonderful members of the Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture, the Clinic has a home. Our Self-Love as a Daily Meditation debut event was resoundingly successful! Thank you so much!

On Tuesday, February 7, 2023, the Clinic partnered with the ArborVitae School of Traditional Herbalism. Shout out to co-founder, Richard Mandelbaum, Amber Merkens, Clinic Director, faculty member, Sam Perry, and all of the wonderful ArborVitae students who are working so diligently to give the community natural, plant-based self-care options.

My students from the Fort Greene Senior Center showed up for self-care support and Denise, my long-time friend, travelled from Harlem to join in the fun. We were also delighted to welcome two new friends of the Clinic to our space compliments of an EventBrite search.

Private Chef Anthony M. DiCocco baked some cacao bread (Pane Delia Medicina) and Nata made a four-berry spread with orange zest which we devoured…also with zest. The blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and secret spices all played very nicely on the palette. We are honored to have such talented angels in our midst.

I am also celebrating two of our volunteer Clinic members who are stellar Herbalists Without Borders (HWB) health justice advocates, serving our community in a most tender and exciting way.

Nata, is a Certified Energy Medicine Practitioner channeler of the Lumerian (MU) Codes and Akashic Records, activating the crystalline core of the Mother, bearing witness to the healing and transformation of humanity, and the Owner and CEO of HEAL WITH NRG, she has built a practice rooted in honoring the natural ways and offerings of Mother Earth.

She is also an Integrative Pelvic Health® Facilitator. Connect with Nata @divewithnata.

Amy Anthony is a certified clinical Aromatherapist, certified Aromatic Studies Method teacher, herbalist, gardener and artisanal distiller with a private aromatherapy practice based in Manhattan, NY. She is a graduate of the New York Institute of Aromatherapy where she earned her Level 1 and Level 2 aromatherapy certifications and is registered with the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy and the Alliance of International Aromatherapists.

Her private practice, NYC Aromatica, includes one-on-one customized aromatherapy sessions, online class offerings, corporate consulting and community workshops. A core tenet of NYC Aromatica's philosophy is respecting all of nature, intentionally working with aromatic plants and honoring their ability to support an individual's mind-body-spirit connection. Amy offered us an aromatic respite with essential oils and a guided meditation. Ginger, Scot’s Pine, and Red Mandarin took center stage.

Nata led a divinely-ordered sound healing session that included tuning forks embellished with crystal handles and Koshi Chimes (the four elements).

The 2-hour session ended with me giving a brief presentation about the benefits of herbs (ashwaganda and mugwort) and flower essences, Dr. Bach’s Rescue Remedy specifically, for addressing emotional trauma in humans and their pets (i.e. grief and loss).

We will be doing another free session at the Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture on Tuesday, March 7, 2:30-4:30pm.

On February 18, I will be attending two community events hosted by The Lion’s Club International, and Green Thumb in collaboration with Community Board #3.

I will be distributing HWB donated self-care items (herbs, supplements, and toiletries) at both events.

The Lion’s Club is holding their 66th Annual Mid-Winter Convention and the Outreach Coordinator at Green Thumb, Gregory Anderson has requested that I make a presentation on the healing properties of herbs. My talk will be based on my book, Pick Up Your Bed and Walk: A Self-Care Guide to Improved Health.

On Wednesday, February 22, 2023, the Clinic, sponsored by Gaia NoMaya Salt Cave & Spa, located at 510 Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn, will be hosting an all-day clinic for Wellness Wednesdays. Starting at 12 Noon the program will feature:

Lloyd Leary, "Sound Ceremony with the Body Mechanic" - 12pm-1pm
